Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Real Estate, Business Administration, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in loan asset management.
- At least 2 years of experience in non-consumer or commercial lending.
- Experience managing debt and equity investments within real estate funds.
- Demonstrated experience analyzing commercial real estate financial statements, property operating performance, and borrower cash flows.
- Experience with watchlist assets, workouts, foreclosures, or special asset management.
- Experience reviewing loan documentation and monitoring compliance with loan agreements.
- Strong financial analysis skills, including experience validating loan balances, accrued interest, and servicing activity.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Demonstrated ability to independently manage multiple complex assets.
- Familiarity with affordable housing finance and tax credit programs (LIHTC, NMTC, or HTC) is preferred.
- Experience with Smartsheet and portfolio management systems is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary relationship manager for an assigned portfolio of approximately 60 debt and equity investments.
- Monitor borrower performance by analyzing financial statements, property cash flows, and covenant compliance.
- Prepare portfolio analyses, loan summaries, and impairment reports for management review.
- Manage watchlist and defaulted assets, including structuring and negotiating loan modifications, extensions, and workout strategies.
- Collaborate with internal teams including Underwriting, Legal, and Construction Management to support investment lifecycle monitoring.
- Conduct site visits and annual portfolio reviews to evaluate property performance and identify emerging risks.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to other Asset Management team members.
