Requirements
- 7+ years of professional experience as a software engineer with a focus on backend or distributed systems.
- Proven experience leading medium-to-large engineering initiatives (3+ months).
- Ability to break down ambiguous problems into clear solution designs and project plans.
- Hands-on experience building highly concurrent, data-intensive software.
- Deep understanding of low-level network and disk I/O (throughput, latency, backpressure, batching, failure modes).
- Ability to work autonomously and drive projects with minimal supervision.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills in a remote-first environment.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain backend services for a distributed streaming platform.
- Lead medium-to-large engineering initiatives end-to-end.
- Mature disaster recovery and resilience, including implementing backup/restore APIs.
- Design and implement developer and operator tooling for system troubleshooting.
- Improve engineering effectiveness by collaborating on CI, testing, and development workflows.
- Participate in L3 support and on-call rotations to resolve production issues.
