Requirements
- 8+ years of professional experience or equivalent Senior Software Engineer III depth.
- Backend experience with Java and Spring Boot, delivering microservices and production-grade REST APIs.
- Strong frontend capability with Web Components, TypeScript, and Vue or similar SPA/CSR architectures.
- Excellent CSS skills and experience working with Design Systems.
- Accessibility-first UI development mindset including semantic HTML and WCAG basics.
- Solid SQL and PostgreSQL knowledge.
- Hands-on experience with Kafka in distributed systems.
- Practical experience applying DDD and aligning service/UI boundaries to domain concepts.
- Experience with hexagonal/ports-and-adapters architecture and resilience patterns.
- Production mindset: cloud, containerization, CI/CD, and observability.
- Comfortable working in XP/Agile teams with pairing/mobbing.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Responsibilities
- Build, evolve, and run production services and UI capabilities in a Self-Contained Systems environment with end-to-end team ownership.
- Deliver backend solutions using Java/Kotlin and Spring Boot, developing reliable microservices and robust REST APIs.
- Deliver frontend capabilities by consuming and extending Web Components and building Vue-based CSR experiences.
- Implement event-driven integrations using Kafka and synchronous HTTP integrations.
- Apply Domain-Driven Design (DDD) and hexagonal architecture to model and evolve retail domains.
- Engineer for resilience and reliability using patterns like timeouts, retries, and fallbacks while ensuring production observability.
- Take shared ownership of quality across the SDLC with no separate QA department.
- Work in an XP/Agile way, including pairing, mobbing, and continuous refactoring.
- Operate with a you build it, you run it mindset, collaborating on CI/CD, monitoring, and incident response.
