Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Life Sciences, or a related field; advanced degrees are highly valued.
  • Significant experience in corporate communications, public relations, or strategic communications, preferably within biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, or other science-driven industries.
  • Strong understanding of drug development processes, clinical research, and the broader healthcare ecosystem.
  • Demonstrated success advising senior executives and developing executive communications and thought leadership strategies.
  • Proven experience leading complex communications programs in highly matrixed organizations and navigating ambiguity effectively.
  • Exceptional writing, storytelling, presentation, and messaging skills with the ability to simplify complex scientific information.
  • Strong business acumen and the ability to align communication initiatives with enterprise goals and organizational priorities.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and collaboration skills across research, development, medical, commercial, and investor-facing functions.
  • Experience building and leading high-performing teams, managing agencies, and delivering measurable communications outcomes.
  • Intellectual curiosity, learning agility, sound judgment, and a collaborative leadership style.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute integrated communications strategies supporting development organizations, clinical pipelines, and scientific innovation initiatives.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, providing strategic counsel on executive visibility, organizational priorities, change management, and issues communications.
  • Develop compelling narratives around pipeline milestones, clinical progress, and scientific achievements to strengthen enterprise reputation and stakeholder confidence.
  • Translate complex scientific and medical concepts into engaging, accessible content for internal and external audiences.
  • Partner closely with research, medical, regulatory, commercial, investor relations, and corporate affairs teams to ensure message consistency and coordinated communications across the product lifecycle.
  • Drive executive thought leadership initiatives, including speeches, presentations, messaging frameworks, and external engagement opportunities.
  • Lead and mentor communications professionals while managing agency relationships and external resources to deliver measurable business impact.
  • Establish communication metrics and continuously improve strategic initiatives to maximize influence, engagement, and organizational alignment.
