Requirements
- 4+ years of professional software engineering experience in a product-centered team
- Demonstrates senior-level ownership: independently navigates ambiguity and proactively moves work forward
- Experience building frontend React applications, ideally in eCommerce, marketplaces, or high-traffic consumer web
- Hands-on experience with product discovery, search/browse experiences, cart and checkout flows, or performance optimization
- Understanding of SEO best practices for organic discovery at scale
- Systems-level problem solver comfortable with distributed systems and infrastructure
- Strong Computer Science fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, and code design principles
- Proficiency in Javascript/Typescript and React
- Base level familiarity with relational databases
- Strong technical communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences
- Collaborative and willing to mentor
Responsibilities
- Implement, test and maintain new user-facing functionality on our eCommerce platform
- Build scalable backend services and APIs that power our web applications
- Partner with other senior engineers to contribute to high level decisions about the architecture and design
- Engage with Product Managers to make Jane's eCommerce storefront offerings sound, robust, and easy to use
- Help communicate and implement best practices across the engineering team
- Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Designers, and other Engineers through design reviews, feature planning, and code reviews
- Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks
