Requirements
- 10+ years of professional software engineering experience with large-scale distributed systems.
- Deep experience owning systems end-to-end as the lead technical voice on large projects.
- Expert knowledge of software design best practices, data structures, algorithms, and distributed-systems fundamentals.
- In-depth knowledge of cloud technology and judgment in selecting appropriate infrastructure (serverless, containers, databases, etc.).
- Demonstrated experience building systems that handle sensitive or regulated data with security/privacy as first-class constraints.
- Exceptional communication and collaboration skills to bridge technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies and move quickly in the AI landscape.
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Experience building AI/LLM-powered systems in production (preferred).
- Background in security, privacy engineering, or trust & safety (preferred).
- Experience with large-scale data platforms (preferred).
- Experience with AWS and Infrastructure as Code (preferred).
Responsibilities
- Design, document, and drive the architectural vision for the platform, ensuring scalability, reliability, security, and alignment with business goals.
- Own complex, end-to-end initiatives from design and architecture through development, deployment, and iteration.
- Build the foundation that unifies Aura's data into a trusted, high-quality source for generating intelligence.
- Architect how AI agents access and reason over sensitive data, designing for least-privilege access and strong isolation.
- Build the systems that turn that intelligence into personalized insights and actions.
- Make and defend high-leverage technology choices across the stack, balancing scalability, cost, and operational simplicity.
- Establish and champion engineering best practices for security, privacy, observability, and testing.
- Serve as a technical mentor on complex design challenges and system reliability.
