Requirements
- Minimum 8 years of experience in accounting, finance, controlling, or bookkeeping
- In-depth technical finance and tax expertise
- Strong understanding of accounting principles
- Ability to collaborate with external tax advisors on German accounting compliance
- Experience with accounting software and financial management tools (e.g., Odoo, Datev)
- Proficiency with financial data in Google Sheets and Excel
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Fluency in English (mandatory)
- Ability to manage records accurately in a remote environment
Responsibilities
- Take ownership of the finance function proactively and autonomously
- Maintain accurate financial records including bookkeeping and reconciliations
- Process invoices, expenses, and payments with proper documentation
- Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing processes
- Create and maintain project- and department-specific budgets
- Support compliance with German accounting and tax requirements
- Manage monthly payroll across direct entities and employer of record services
- Oversee cash flow, financial planning (FP&A), and risk management
- Support audits and financial documentation requests
