Requirements
- Advanced degree in the physical sciences, engineering, computer science, or mathematics.
- Minimum 4 years of work experience post PhD or 8 years post MS.
- Extensive experience with Python data science packages and software engineering practices.
- Proficiency in collaborative software development (git), unit/integration testing, and CICD pipelines.
- Experience with cloud computing resources.
- Expertise in building predictive models, evaluating performance, and interpreting results.
- Broad skills in applied statistics, Bayesian inference, and machine learning algorithms.
- Experience with geospatial analyses and visualizations.
- Experience leading technical teams to apply novel scientific approaches.
- Ability to explain technical problems and collaborate with domain experts.
- Valid passport and willingness to travel to global exploration sites.
Responsibilities
- Develop KoBold’s proprietary software exploration tools.
- Find and curate geophysical, geochemical, geologic, and geographic data for integration into proprietary data systems.
- Build models to make statistically valid predictions about compositional anomalies in the Earth's crust.
- Create visualizations for evaluating model performance and enabling rapid interaction with key features.
- Apply data processing, statistical, and physics-based techniques to geoscientific data to guide targeting efforts.
- Present findings and collaborate with external partners and stakeholders.
