Requirements
- Advanced degree in physical sciences, engineering, computer science, or mathematics.
- Minimum 4 years of experience post-PhD or 8 years post-MS as a data scientist or data engineer.
- Extensive experience with Python’s data science packages and general software engineering practices.
- Proficiency in collaborative software development (git), unit/integration test suites, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with cloud computing resources.
- Strong background in applied statistics, Bayesian inference, and machine learning algorithms.
- Experience building, applying, and evaluating predictive models and geospatial analyses.
- Ability to lead technical teams to apply novel scientific approaches.
- Strong communication skills for cross-functional collaboration with domain experts.
- Willingness to travel to field exploration sites internationally.
Responsibilities
- Develop KoBold’s proprietary software exploration tools.
- Find and curate geophysical, geochemical, geologic, and geographic data for integration into proprietary systems.
- Build models to make statistically valid predictions about compositional anomalies within the Earth’s crust.
- Create effective visualizations for evaluating model performance and data interaction.
- Develop and apply data processing, statistical, and physics-based techniques to guide targeting and exploration decisions.
- Present to and collaborate with external partners and stakeholders.
