Requirements
- At least 5 years of professional experience building backend services for production systems.
- Extensive, idiomatic Node.js experience, including building large-scale APIs.
- Strong understanding of the RESTful API paradigm.
- Strong working knowledge of JavaScript and/or TypeScript and the Node.js ecosystem (Express, NestJS, or Fastify).
- Solid relational database experience (MySQL or PostgreSQL) including schema design and query optimization.
- Thorough understanding of automated testing (unit, integration, and E2E).
- Working knowledge of caching layers such as Redis and message/queueing systems.
- Hands-on experience deploying services on AWS and/or Google Cloud.
- Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Good working knowledge of Git.
- Experience in an agile development environment.
- Solid understanding of CI/CD concepts and automated release management.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain API infrastructure, services, and systems for high-traffic consumer applications.
- Collaborate with Product, Frontend, and UX teams on requirements, implementation, and domain analysis.
- Implement backend services focusing on quality through testing, automation, and code review.
- Analyze systems to identify performance bottlenecks and opportunities for improved scalability and reliability.
- Write idiomatic, maintainable code and resolve production issues across services.
- Identify technical debt and implement improvements to standards, tooling, and processes.
