  • Hands-on experience with a decisioning tool, fraud rules engine, risk platform, or internal decisioning system.
  • Experience creating, testing, monitoring, or tuning fraud rules, thresholds, scenarios, or risk logic.
  • Strong analytical skills and comfort working with data to assess rule performance and fraud patterns.
  • Good understanding of fraud typologies, especially card fraud, transaction fraud, account misuse, or payment fraud.
  • Ability to balance fraud prevention with customer impact and operational workload.
  • Experience working with false positives and understanding that good fraud controls require continuous monitoring and tuning.
  • Strong written communication skills, with the ability to explain rule logic, rationale, risks, and expected outcomes clearly.
  • Comfort working cross-functionally with FraudOps, Product, Engineering, Compliance, and Data teams.
  • A structured mindset and appreciation for documentation, traceability, governance, and change control.
  • Experience in fintech, banking, payments, spend management, or regulated financial services.
  • Proficiency in SQL or basic data analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Support the end-to-end fraud rule lifecycle: from rule proposal and analysis through testing, deployment, monitoring, tuning, and rollback.
  • Work directly in, or closely with, decisioning tools and rule engines to support fraud detection logic.
  • Analyze fraud patterns, alert trends, false positives, false negatives, and rule performance.
  • Translate FraudOps insights and stakeholder requests into clear, structured rule proposals.
  • Assess whether new rules or threshold changes are justified by data.
  • Monitor post-deployment rule performance and identify when rules need adjustment.
  • Support daily operational requests related to fraud controls, ensuring changes are traceable and well documented.
  • Partner with FraudOps, AML, Product, Engineering, Data, Compliance, and Legal to align decisioning changes.
  • Maintain clear documentation for fraud rules, rationale, expected impact, testing outcomes, and monitoring results.
  • Reduce single points of failure by building repeatable processes and stronger business continuity around fraud decisioning.
