Requirements
- 7+ years of experience building and shipping production backend systems in Python (e.g., FastAPI, Celery).
- Hands-on experience building production LLM features, including tool calling and multi-step agent workflows.
- Deep understanding of guardrails and evaluation strategies for LLM applications.
- Strong proficiency in SQL, schema design, and data pipeline development for retrieval and evaluation.
- Demonstrated ability to own features from rapid prototype to production with high reliability standards.
- Experience in a fast-paced, scrappy startup environment with a bias for action and simplicity.
- Familiarity with observability practices including logs, metrics, and traces.
- Nice to have: Experience with TypeScript, Node, or Ruby on Rails.
- Nice to have: Experience with RAG depth, including document ingestion, embeddings, and hybrid search.
- Nice to have: Familiarity with orchestration frameworks like LangChain, LangGraph, or LlamaIndex.
Responsibilities
- Build tool-using LLM agents for task planning, function calling, and multi-step workflows.
- Develop resilient, observable AI services with clear SLAs and fallback strategies.
- Implement evaluation and observability frameworks to ensure AI grounding and cost-effectiveness.
- Write high-quality, tested code for backend systems and data retrieval pipelines.
- Collaborate with Product, Design, and GTM teams to scope and measure features.
- Run and interpret experiments to iterate on AI performance and user experience.
