Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience in compliance, legal, or regulatory roles within gaming, fintech, prediction markets, or derivatives/commodities trading.
  • Active Juris Doctorate (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Active license to practice law in at least one United States jurisdiction (preferred).
  • Direct experience or strong working knowledge of the Commodity Exchange Act, CFTC and NFA rules, and event contract regulatory frameworks.
  • Proven experience navigating FTC guidelines, advertising compliance, and consumer protection laws in digital consumer verticals.
  • Experience building or maintaining a compliance program in a fast-paced, high-growth startup environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with risk management functions to mitigate operational hazards.
  • Strong analytical and project management skills to translate complex federal regulations into actionable business guidance.
  • Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities in an evolving regulatory environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and improve the company’s compliance program across gaming, social sportsbook, DFS, and prediction market verticals.
  • Own regulatory, market, and credit risk profiles and draft compliance policies, internal controls, and terms and conditions.
  • Lead CFTC compliance strategy, including structuring event contracts and ensuring adherence to FCM frameworks and CEA rules.
  • Ensure marketing, advertising, and consumer-facing initiatives comply with FTC and consumer protection standards.
  • Serve as primary point of contact for state gaming authorities, federal regulators (CFTC and FTC), and self-regulatory organizations.
  • Manage regulatory filings, licensing renewals, audits, and examinations.
  • Oversee AML, CFT, fraud prevention, and KYC programs, partnering with security to detect market manipulation.
  • Collaborate with Legal, Product, Engineering, and Finance teams to integrate compliance into operational workflows.
