Job Details

Minimum 2 years of regulated mortgage underwriting experience across Australian residential and commercial mortgages.
Strong understanding of financial analysis, credit risk assessment, and lending principles.
Proficiency in Australian mortgage underwriting processes and non-bank lending sector regulations.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to compliance and documentation standards.
Proven ability to manage multiple loan applications independently while meeting deadlines.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills for professional stakeholder management.
Self-motivated, able to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment.
Experience mentoring or supporting junior team members on credit-related matters.
Ability to quickly learn new lending processes, systems, and regulatory changes.

Evaluate residential and commercial mortgage applications by assessing borrowers' creditworthiness and financial position.
Analyse financial statements, credit reports, and supporting documentation to determine lending risk.
Make informed and timely credit decisions based on thorough analysis and established lending guidelines.
Prepare comprehensive credit assessments and present lending recommendations for approval or decline.
Manage a high-volume pipeline while ensuring service level agreements (SLAs) and turnaround times are consistently achieved.
Maintain regular communication with introducing brokers and stakeholders via phone and email.
Ensure all loan documentation is compliant with internal policies and Australian lending standards.
