Requirements
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited institution.
- Current, unrestricted attorney license.
- Minimum of 7 years of legal, regulatory, or compliance experience.
- Experience in a law firm or in-house corporate legal environment.
- Healthcare and/or managed care legal experience, particularly experience involving government programs.
- Demonstrated knowledge of healthcare law, regulatory requirements, and relevant legal practice areas.
- Ability to analyze complex legal issues and provide practical, business-focused recommendations.
- Strong understanding of business operations and the ability to align legal guidance with organizational goals.
- Experience assessing legal risks and opportunities to support strategic decision-making.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex legal concepts to diverse audiences.
- Strong relationship-building, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, deliver high-quality work, and follow matters through completion.
Responsibilities
- Provide legal advice and counsel on corporate, transactional, regulatory, and compliance matters.
- Draft legal opinions, recommendations, and guidance to support informed business decisions.
- Manage a defined portfolio of legal matters, projects, markets, affiliates, or specialized practice areas.
- Identify, evaluate, and communicate legal and regulatory risks while monitoring relevant legislative and regulatory developments.
- Lead and support contract-related activities, including drafting, negotiation, vendor agreements, provider agreements, and dispute resolution.
- Support corporate governance initiatives, compliance programs, business development activities, and strategic partnerships.
- Provide legal guidance for new market implementations and operational initiatives.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with business leaders, regulators, government entities, external counsel, and internal stakeholders.
- Manage or support litigation matters and other dispute resolution activities.
