Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in email security, SOC operations, messaging administration, or IT operations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, IT, or equivalent practical experience.
- Hands-on experience investigating suspicious emails, phishing, BEC, and impersonation attempts.
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 email security tools, including Defender for Office 365, Exchange Online Protection, and Exchange Admin Center.
- Working knowledge of email authentication concepts: SPF, DKIM, and DMARC.
- Ability to write or modify scripts in Python, PowerShell, Go, or Bash.
- Experience working with REST APIs and security telemetry.
- Familiarity with collaboration and documentation tools such as Jira, Asana, Confluence, or GitHub.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently while managing security incident escalation.
Responsibilities
- Administer, monitor, and tune email security platforms including Microsoft Defender for Office 365, Exchange Online Protection, and ICES solutions.
- Investigate phishing, business email compromise (BEC), spoofing, malware, and other email-based threats by analyzing headers, URLs, and sender reputation.
- Support SPF, DKIM, and DMARC configuration and authentication alignment across managed domains.
- Develop scripts using Python, PowerShell, Go, or Bash to automate repetitive security tasks and improve reporting efficiency.
- Maintain technical documentation in Jira, Confluence, and GitHub, and support the creation of SOPs and investigation runbooks.
- Assist with third-party sender validation and mail-flow review.
