Job Details

10+ years of experience in life insurance underwriting within a leading carrier, reinsurer, or similar organization.
6+ years of experience managing and developing underwriting teams.
Proven experience creating and implementing underwriting guidelines, programs, and risk frameworks.
Strong understanding of accelerated underwriting models, digital insurance processes, and third-party evidence providers.
Demonstrated ability to use data and analytics to identify opportunities, improve processes, and support business decisions.
Experience leading teams through change and building high-performing, collaborative environments.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to explain complex underwriting concepts clearly.
Strategic mindset with a passion for innovation, customer-focused solutions, and continuous improvement.

Lead and develop multiple underwriting teams, including production underwriting, auditing, and project-focused functions.
Oversee complex risk assessments involving medical, non-medical, and financial information.
Develop and refine underwriting guidelines, processes, and programs to improve efficiency, consistency, and scalability.
Maintain strong relationships with external insurance partners, carriers, and reinsurers.
Identify, evaluate, and implement new third-party data solutions and technologies.
Partner with actuarial teams to analyze mortality performance, identify trends, and provide insights.
Collaborate with engineering and product teams to improve digital underwriting experiences.
Foster a culture of accountability, learning, innovation, and continuous improvement.
