Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience in construction estimating, ideally residential.
  • Experience working with Australian construction businesses or in an Australian-facing role.
  • Familiarity with the end-to-end production estimating process including RFQs, budget preparation, and purchase order management.
  • High proficiency in written and spoken English.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple active jobs simultaneously.
  • Confidence working independently in a remote environment with structured oversight.
  • Experience using construction estimating and project management software.
  • Stable home office setup with reliable internet.
  • Experience using Sitebook for site documentation, inspections, and project compliance tracking.
  • Proficient in Bluebeam Revu for PDF markup, plan review, and quantity takeoffs.
  • Comfortable using Trello to manage tasks and track project workflows.
  • Strong proficiency across Microsoft Office, particularly Excel for data management and cost tracking.

Responsibilities

  • Review and process jobs once released into the production pipeline.
  • Issue and manage requests for quotes (RFQs) to subcontractors and suppliers via the company's estimating system.
  • Follow up on outstanding quotes and ensure timely receipt.
  • Prepare and maintain production budgets for each build.
  • Issue purchase orders (POs) in line with approved budgets.
  • Track and reconcile costs against budgets throughout the build cycle.
  • Liaise with site supervisors and the internal team as needed to clarify scope or resolve variations.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records within the estimating system.
  • Flag any cost overruns, scope changes, or procurement issues.
  • Check invoices against budgets and determine outcomes for discrepancies.
