Requirements
- Demonstrated experience in construction estimating, ideally residential.
- Experience working with Australian construction businesses or in an Australian-facing role.
- Familiarity with the end-to-end production estimating process including RFQs, budget preparation, and purchase order management.
- High proficiency in written and spoken English.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple active jobs simultaneously.
- Confidence working independently in a remote environment with structured oversight.
- Experience using construction estimating and project management software.
- Stable home office setup with reliable internet.
- Experience using Sitebook for site documentation, inspections, and project compliance tracking.
- Proficient in Bluebeam Revu for PDF markup, plan review, and quantity takeoffs.
- Comfortable using Trello to manage tasks and track project workflows.
- Strong proficiency across Microsoft Office, particularly Excel for data management and cost tracking.
Responsibilities
- Review and process jobs once released into the production pipeline.
- Issue and manage requests for quotes (RFQs) to subcontractors and suppliers via the company's estimating system.
- Follow up on outstanding quotes and ensure timely receipt.
- Prepare and maintain production budgets for each build.
- Issue purchase orders (POs) in line with approved budgets.
- Track and reconcile costs against budgets throughout the build cycle.
- Liaise with site supervisors and the internal team as needed to clarify scope or resolve variations.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records within the estimating system.
- Flag any cost overruns, scope changes, or procurement issues.
- Check invoices against budgets and determine outcomes for discrepancies.
