Requirements
- At least 5 years of estimating experience in joinery, cabinetry, shopfitting, or commercial interiors.
- Proven experience preparing complete joinery/cabinetry proposals.
- Deep understanding of joinery terminology, material construction, and installation methodology.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, elevations, sections, and specifications without training.
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, and Bluebeam for pricing and documentation.
- Strong commercial judgement and attention to detail to identify scope gaps or inconsistencies.
- Excellent written and spoken English for professional correspondence and phone communication.
- Self-managed, reliable, and deadline-driven with the ability to work with limited supervision.
- Experience with multi-residential, apartment, or commercial fitout projects is strongly preferred.
- Experience with Australian construction projects and trade packages is strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Review tender documents, architectural drawings, and specifications to understand the full joinery package.
- Quantify joinery and cabinetry scope including kitchen, vanity, and common area components.
- Apply correct joinery terminology, material descriptions, and installation methodologies in proposals.
- Prepare comprehensive proposals including pricing summaries, inclusions, exclusions, and clarifications.
- Identify missing information and produce RFI lists for builders and consultants.
- Source, compare, and track supplier pricing for hardware, stone, and appliances.
- Build and maintain estimating templates, rate libraries, and pricing benchmarks.
- Prepare tender handover information to ensure project team alignment.
- Communicate professionally with Australian builders, suppliers, and internal team members.
