Requirements

  • Licensed Customs Broker.
  • Extensive trade compliance background including classification, valuation, licensing, and audit processes.
  • Experience in high-volume import/export environments.
  • Proven experience leading cross-functional compliance projects with brokers and logistics providers.
  • Strong analytical and systems expertise.
  • Proficiency with ACE (Automated Commercial Environment) and AES (Automated Export System).
  • Experience with ECCN/HTS classification tools.
  • Experience with denied party screening software.
  • History of delivering cost savings through duty optimization strategies (FTA, duty drawback, First Sale).
  • Executive communication skills with experience presenting to senior leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Develop cross-functional relationships with Legal, Supply Chain, Finance, and IT to align on compliance priorities.
  • Assess current trade compliance state by reviewing classification accuracy and import/export activity.
  • Correct recordkeeping errors, improve broker SOPs, and resolve classification discrepancies to drive cost savings.
  • Establish a KPI dashboard to measure classification accuracy, entry timeliness, and screening compliance.
  • Build a long-term compliance roadmap and present savings-aligned strategies to senior leadership.
