Requirements
- Served on a medical school admissions committee or admissions board with experience reviewing applications and making acceptance and rejection decisions.
- Completed an MD or DO degree.
- 5–7 years of experience in education, coaching, tutoring, and/or medical school admissions consulting.
- A passion for coaching.
- Strong planning and organizational skills.
- Strong English reading, writing, and editing skills, particularly for medical school essays and personal statements.
- Strong verbal communication skills.
- Expertise in project management and applicant tracking.
Responsibilities
- Work with prospective medical school candidates to identify opportunities to build their profile and draft compelling medical school application documents.
- Manage relationships with applicants and families while providing strategic and tactical guidance on medical school selection, essays, resumes, recommendations, interviews, and the overall medical school admissions process.
- Identify optimal medical programs and medical schools for individual students; provide feedback and guidance on research and relevant admissions resources.
- Support students with project planning, application timeline management, and progress tracking through internal organizational tools.
- Stay up to date on the medical school admissions process and programs to advise prospective and existing clients.
