Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent; Associates or Bachelors preferred.
- 1–2 years of experience in credit counseling, financial coaching, or debt management.
- NFCC Credit Counselor Certification (to be obtained within the first six months of employment).
- Experience analyzing client budgets, income, and debt to create actionable repayment plans.
- Experience providing one-on-one counseling or coaching to clients in a confidential setting (phone and/or online).
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
- Availability to work Mon–Thu 2:00–10:00 PM ET and Fri 12:00–8:00 PM ET.
- Ability to work in a quiet, dedicated home office with reliable high-speed internet.
- Knowledge of credit reports, credit scoring, and consumer lending (preferred).
- Experience educating clients on credit reports, scores, and healthy financial habits (preferred).
- Experience recommending debt management plans and repayment strategies (preferred).
- Spanish language proficiency (preferred).
Responsibilities
- Answer incoming calls from individuals seeking financial education or credit counseling support.
- Conduct one-on-one credit counseling sessions via phone to review budgets and provide recommendations on debt management and credit reporting issues.
- Deliver financial education and assist with enrollment into agency programs.
- Process consumer applications by entering client information and budget details into internal systems.
- Follow up with prospective clients to encourage them to begin or continue the counseling process.
- Verify client-provided information to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Document client interactions and maintain accurate, confidential records.
