Requirements
- Proven bookkeeping experience, ideally within an ecommerce or DTC environment.
- Experience managing high transaction volume across multiple payment processors.
- Ability to design and implement a bookkeeping system from scratch without existing ERP or internal systems.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks or Xero.
- Advanced skills in Google Sheets and Excel.
- Experience reconciling multiple currencies and accounts.
- Strong written English proficiency for async communication.
- Proactive communication style with the ability to flag issues early and recommend solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to handle confidential financial data with discretion and accuracy.
Responsibilities
- Set up and manage internal bookkeeping operations from a clean slate using tools like QuickBooks or Xero and Google Sheets.
- Perform daily reconciliation of bank accounts, payment-processor activity (Stripe, PayPal, Shopify Payments), and Wise transactions.
- Track daily cash position and report movements, progress, and actionable items to leadership.
- Support the monthly close process by preparing reconciliations, schedules, and audit-ready records.
- Collaborate with Finance and People & Culture teams on payroll, commission, and bonus documentation.
