Requirements

  • Proven bookkeeping experience, ideally within an ecommerce or DTC environment.
  • Experience managing high transaction volume across multiple payment processors.
  • Ability to design and implement a bookkeeping system from scratch without existing ERP or internal systems.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks or Xero.
  • Advanced skills in Google Sheets and Excel.
  • Experience reconciling multiple currencies and accounts.
  • Strong written English proficiency for async communication.
  • Proactive communication style with the ability to flag issues early and recommend solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential financial data with discretion and accuracy.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and manage internal bookkeeping operations from a clean slate using tools like QuickBooks or Xero and Google Sheets.
  • Perform daily reconciliation of bank accounts, payment-processor activity (Stripe, PayPal, Shopify Payments), and Wise transactions.
  • Track daily cash position and report movements, progress, and actionable items to leadership.
  • Support the monthly close process by preparing reconciliations, schedules, and audit-ready records.
  • Collaborate with Finance and People & Culture teams on payroll, commission, and bonus documentation.
