Requirements
- 4+ years of product design experience.
- Experience as a solo product designer (or one-of-two) for an early-stage startup, or personally driven/shipped a large design project end-to-end.
- Strong product mindset and design generalist skills.
- Proficiency in Figma for building high-fidelity mockups.
- Ability to communicate clearly with teammates and craft intuitive experiences.
- Ability to execute quickly in a fast-paced startup environment.
- Impact-oriented mindset.
- Available to work in a US timezone.
- Familiarity with frontend web technologies (HTML/CSS) is a plus.
- Experience in edtech or social impact spaces is a plus.
- Comfort using AI tools for design and prototyping is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Lead scoping and end-to-end design of new features for learners and tutors, balancing craft, speed, and impact.
- Work closely with engineers to ship features from concept, to wireframes, to production.
- Own visual and graphic design for brand identity, product marketing, and external-facing communications.
- Ground design work in user research by running usability studies and engaging the learner community through interviews and focus groups.
- Maintain and build the design system to ensure scalable, intuitive, and consistent interfaces.
- Develop and execute an inspiring long-term product vision for Schoolhouse.
