Requirements
- Minimum of 5+ years of sales experience, ideally within food distribution or selling directly to distributors.
- Experience with gourmet snacking or bakery ingredient sales.
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, sales, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
- Ability to lead customer sales meetings, solve problems creatively, and forecast inventory needs.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule with approximately 50% travel required, particularly around the North-Eastern and Southeastern regions of the US.
- Ability to reside within the southeastern US market.
- Demonstrate an assertive, positive approach and sound interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain relationships with industry influencers and key strategic partners such as distributors, retailers, and foodservice operators.
- Act as a liaison between the sales department and other departments such as marketing, production, and finance.
- Prepare regular sales reports showing volume, potential sales, and areas of proposed growth.
- Plan annual sales budgets that align with overall company goals and objectives.
- Develop and implement new product launch programs in collaboration with the product development team.
- Prepare presentations to customers highlighting new or innovative concepts.
- Attend industry trade shows several times annually.
