Requirements
- Experience supporting all RMF steps, security categorizations, and FISMA security documents.
- Experience creating and updating security artifacts and Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&M).
- Experience with National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) SP 800-53 security controls.
- Experience with system authorizations and security compliance standards and processes.
- Experience planning secure product installations per agency authorization policy requirements.
- Experience analyzing authorization documents and artifacts to identify gaps and schedule resolutions.
- Ability to independently lead client-facing meetings and present complex ATO topics.
- Ability to organize and maintain large amounts of data with various expiration dates.
- Bachelor’s degree in CS or Electronics Engineering with 5+ years of IT experience, or 13+ years of IT experience in lieu of a degree.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and drive the completion of Risk Management Framework (RMF) steps 0-6 ATO activities.
- Identify, mitigate, and escalate project risks to leadership.
- Apply VA authorization policies and processes to provide information system security expertise.
- Maintain operational security posture throughout the system lifecycle from acquisition to decommissioning.
- Complete and maintain detailed security documentation for IT systems, networks, hardware, and software.
- Translate security concepts into actionable recommendations for client decision-making.
