Requirements
- 8–10+ years of professional engineering experience.
- 3+ years of experience managing senior and staff engineers.
- Deep backend engineering expertise in building and scaling backend systems.
- Breadth across the stack including synchronous API services (Java/Spring Boot).
- Experience with batch and event-driven ETL pipelines (Python/Airflow).
- Strong understanding of operational excellence, incident management, and on-call hygiene.
- Hands-on AI-first mindset for driving automation and team velocity.
- Demonstrated ability to own outcomes in ambiguous environments.
- Experience translating technical decisions for non-technical stakeholders such as enterprise customers or compliance officers.
- Excellent communication and cross-functional leadership skills.
Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end identity verification lifecycle from CIP checks to ongoing CDD and customer risk monitoring.
- Build and operate systems enforcing KYC obligations, including identity verification, risk-based due diligence, and event-driven re-verification.
- Drive AI-first automation to reduce manual review rates and increase efficiency across KYC/KYB decisioning, sanction screening, and Red Flag rule evaluation.
- Lead and mentor a high-performing engineering team to improve velocity and system reliability.
- Act as a technical and business-facing leader in customer and regulatory escalations, translating complex compliance scenarios into platform improvements.
- Partner cross-functionally with Risk, Compliance, Product, Operations, and Legal to shape the platform roadmap and strategy.
