Requirements

  • Strong professional experience building and operating production-grade backend systems using Go.
  • Proven expertise designing scalable and reliable systems for high-throughput, data-intensive, or distributed environments.
  • Experience developing APIs and service integrations, including gRPC or similar communication patterns.
  • Background working with data platforms, event-driven systems, analytics infrastructures, or large-scale data pipelines.
  • Hands-on experience with ClickHouse or similar query-focused databases and analytical data stores.
  • Familiarity with backend technologies such as Ruby on Rails or the ability to quickly ramp up on adjacent technologies.
  • Solid understanding of infrastructure concerns including observability, deployment strategies, system performance, and reliability engineering.
  • Experience collaborating across multiple engineering teams and delivering platform capabilities consumed by internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in remote and highly collaborative environments.
  • Comfortable using AI tools and automation solutions to improve productivity and engineering workflows.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services in Go, focusing on data ingestion, transport, replication, storage, and querying capabilities.
  • Own and evolve critical platform components, including APIs, messaging systems, and query-serving architectures to support data-intensive workloads.
  • Drive architectural decisions related to system reliability, scalability, observability, deployment strategies, and operational excellence.
  • Improve production readiness across multiple deployment environments, ensuring safe rollouts and long-term maintainability.
  • Investigate and resolve complex distributed systems challenges, including performance bottlenecks, scaling limitations, and recovery scenarios.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure, data, and engineering teams on system design, code reviews, planning, and delivery of platform features.
  • Contribute to a culture of ownership, continuous improvement, clear documentation, and effective asynchronous communication.
  • Leverage AI-assisted tools to enhance development efficiency, troubleshooting, documentation, and technical investigations.
