- At least 3+ years in a senior leadership role
- Proven success leading, mentoring, and growing multi-disciplinary claims teams
- Deep technical expertise in handling complex liability and property claims, including litigation management and settlement strategy
- Strong understanding of insurance regulations, compliance requirements, and industry best practices
- Demonstrated ability to build and execute scalable operational processes and reporting frameworks
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
- Experience working cross-functionally with underwriting, product, legal, and customer-facing teams
- Proven track record of using data and analytics to drive decision-making and improve claims performance
- Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Insurance, Business, or related field
- Advanced certifications such as CPCU, AIC, or ARM preferred
Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day operations for Liability or Property claims teams, ensuring high-quality and timely claims resolution
- Lead, mentor, and develop claims leaders, managers, and adjusters to build a high-performing, customer-focused organization
- Partner with leadership to define claims strategies, operational priorities, and key performance metrics
- Ensure claims-handling processes comply with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and internal policies
- Act as a point of escalation for complex or high-severity claims, providing strategic oversight and guidance
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Underwriting, Legal, Product, and Customer Care teams to optimize claims processes and manage risk
- Drive or support continuous improvement initiatives, introducing tools, systems, and workflows that enhance efficiency and transparency
- Manage team capacity planning, performance tracking, and hiring to support Coterie’s growth objectives
- Develop, report on, and drive claims goals/objectives and KPIs to executive leadership
- Build strong relationships with vendors, TPAs, and external partners to ensure effective claims handling
