Requirements
- Must be licensed and appointed to sell health insurance in operating jurisdictions.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum one year of experience in telemarketing, appointment setting, or customer service.
- One year of experience in an office setting using telephone or computer as primary tools.
- Strong consultative service and sales background.
- Proficiency with Internet, Windows applications (Word, Excel), and email services (Outlook).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and command of the English language.
- Ability to manage multiple communication channels including phone, email, chat, and paper.
- Ability to multitask and adapt to new processes rapidly.
- Strong problem-solving skills and active listening aptitude.
- Ability to maintain professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Process incoming and outgoing phone calls for assigned clients and programs.
- Uncover member concerns, present solutions, and process enrollment applications.
- Overcome member objections and transition between scripted or customized presentations.
- Obtain, enter, and verify member information accurately.
- Answer customer questions and resolve issues to drive member engagement and retention.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of customer information and system data.
- Escalate complex situations outside of agent control to supervisors.
- Maintain all required insurance licensing and complete continuing education requirements.
