Requirements
- At least 5-7+ years of relevant legal experience.
- Experience in-house at a technology company or within a law firm's technology transactions, product, IP, or privacy practice.
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree.
- Active admission to a state bar.
- Comfort operating in ambiguity and making judgment calls with incomplete information.
- Aptitude for understanding technical concepts and partnering with cross-functional teams.
- Excellent legal, analytical, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Enthusiasm for the Houzz Pro platform.
Responsibilities
- Counsel product, sales, and engineering teams on features regarding consumer protection, advertising, subscriptions, payments, privacy, and AI regulatory compliance.
- Support strategic legal initiatives including litigation, intellectual property, and regulatory matters.
- Drive legal review of marketing copy, promotions, and go-to-market initiatives.
- Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements such as technology agreements, vendor contracts, and data processing agreements.
- Partner cross-functionally to resolve customer escalations and disputes.
- Lead routine privacy reviews and provide support on complex privacy matters.
- Advise on AI-enabled product launches and technology implementation.
