Requirements
- Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM).
- Minimum 8 years of relevant experience with a STEM degree, or minimum 5 years of relevant experience with an Advanced degree.
- Proficiency in embedded C programming.
- Experience with foundation level software development.
- Ability to analyze software requirements and open problem reports.
- Experience or familiarity with DO-178 certification standards.
- Leadership experience in guiding software development teams.
- Understanding of avionics components such as PowerPC systems, LynxOS-178, and ethernet nodes.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the software project engineer providing technical direction during pursuit, bidding, planning, execution, and sustainment.
- Manage foundation software updates and impacts related to hardware obsolescence and customer-driven changes.
- Define development plans and ensure compliance with DO-178 and other relevant certification requirements.
- Lead certification efforts through audits and ensure consistency with technical engineering processes.
- Guide and mentor a team ranging from entry-level to experienced engineers.
- Communicate technical progress, risks, financial data, and project information to stakeholders.
