Requirements

  • Experience in Prior Authorization, Revenue Cycle, Billing Operations, healthcare operations, or a closely related healthcare function.
  • Strong understanding of prior authorization workflows, ideally within healthcare, diagnostics, laboratory, biotechnology, or revenue cycle environments.
  • Demonstrated experience gathering business requirements and translating operational needs into technical or functional specifications.
  • Strong process mapping, workflow documentation, and visual diagramming skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, stakeholders, priorities, and deadlines.
  • Ability to facilitate discussions, resolve differing viewpoints, and drive alignment across teams.
  • Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to identify dependencies, risks, downstream impacts, and process improvements.
  • Experience working with Salesforce or similar CRM and workflow platforms.
  • Experience using Jira or comparable ticketing and project management tools.
  • Experience with process-mapping tools such as Miro, Draw.io, Visio, or Lucidchart.
  • Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, or structured project management methodologies.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a strategic liaison between Prior Authorization operations, engineering teams, automation partners, and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Gather, analyze, and document business requirements for system enhancements, workflow improvements, automation opportunities, and new functionality.
  • Partner with operational leaders and subject matter experts to understand current workflows, identify pain points, and define future-state solutions.
  • Create and maintain process documentation, workflow diagrams, decision trees, and visual representations of current and future workflows.
  • Manage documentation related to requirements, process decisions, risks, dependencies, action items, and project updates.
  • Create, monitor, and track Jira tickets related to technology initiatives and communicate progress to stakeholders.
  • Support user acceptance testing, workflow validation, issue identification, and implementation readiness activities.
  • Troubleshoot system issues and collaborate with technical teams to resolve workflow disruptions.
  • Support communication, training, and change management activities related to new processes and system updates.
  • Identify opportunities to improve workflow consistency, automation adoption, and overall technology effectiveness.
