Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, preferably within financial reporting, audit, or technical accounting functions.
- Advanced knowledge of US GAAP and/or statutory accounting principles.
- Demonstrated experience supporting or leading external audit processes.
- Strong technical accounting research and interpretation skills.
- Experience reviewing financial statements, journal entries, reconciliations, and monthly close activities.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including functions such as VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, and data analysis.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines, prioritize competing responsibilities, and deliver high-quality results.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with auditors, leadership, and cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and review financial statements to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements.
- Lead coordination and execution of external audits, acting as a primary point of contact for audit requests and supporting audit readiness initiatives.
- Perform operational and financial audits, analyze findings, and develop recommendations to improve processes and controls.
- Research, interpret, and apply accounting guidance while helping develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures.
- Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and monthly close deliverables.
- Analyze balance sheet and income statement fluctuations, identifying trends, variances, and root causes.
- Support monthly consolidation activities across multiple entities and assist with management reporting packages.
- Prepare board materials, annual audit reports, and quarterly financial reporting documentation.
- Lead initiatives focused on improving reporting processes, strengthening controls, and increasing operational efficiency.
