Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in Security Detection & Response, Security Engineering, or Incident Response.
- 2+ years of people management experience, including hiring, coaching, and performance management in a remote environment.
- Strong hands-on experience with modern SIEM platforms, security observability, and complex security investigations.
- Strong proficiency in Python for automation, analysis, and internal tooling.
- Experience with Git-based workflows, CI/CD practices, and threat intelligence-informed detections.
- Experience building agents or AI-native workflows for security content or response processes.
- Experience with cloud-native platforms, security telemetry, and SaaS environments.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience with MITRE ATT&CK framework and vulnerability management.
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, GCIA, GCIH, GCED, or cloud security certifications are a plus.
Responsibilities
- Manage and scale the Security Detection & Response team, fostering technical growth and operational ownership.
- Improve end-to-end detection, investigation, and response processes, including AI-assisted triage.
- Lead high-severity security incidents with clear decision-making and cross-functional communication.
- Define and evolve security observability strategy, including telemetry onboarding and threat intelligence integration.
- Develop and maintain security detections, playbooks, and response automations using Python and CI/CD practices.
- Collaborate with Engineering, IT, Legal, and Product teams on security improvements and risk mitigation.
- Report on security metrics to highlight trends, gaps, and effectiveness of detection and response efforts.
