Requirements
- Proven experience applying deep learning to sequential data.
- Strong proficiency with transformer architectures on event or transaction sequences.
- Strong foundation in mathematical statistics and probability theory.
- Deep understanding of machine learning algorithms including GBM, MLP, CNN, RNN, and Transformers.
- Experience taking large models into production environments with distributed training and model serving.
- Ability to balance solution complexity with practical business applicability.
- Strong academic background in mathematics, physics, or computer science from a top technical university.
- Experience developing models in banking or consumer lending is a plus.
- Proven achievements such as Kaggle Master/Grandmaster status is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Build an end-to-end foundation model over financial event sequences and fine-tune for downstream tasks like underwriting, fraud detection, and collections.
- Drive technical decisions through the entire lifecycle from methodology to implementation, robustness, and regulatory compliance.
- Manage the transition of models from research to production, including training infrastructure, evaluation, model serving, and monitoring.
- Research state-of-the-art approaches and represent the team at industry conferences.
- Mentor senior engineers and scientists while establishing technical standards for design and deployment.
- Communicate modeling results to cross-functional stakeholders including product, risk, and leadership teams.
