Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Transportation, Logistics, Supply Chain Management or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum five years of sales experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of sales strategy development and application.
  • Refined probing ability to identify customer needs and solutions.
  • Effective closing ability to successfully conclude the sales cycle.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong relationship management and objection-handling skills.
  • Excellent negotiating skills to maintain target margins.
  • Strong organizational skills, specifically for effectiveness while traveling.
  • PC literate with intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office and web-based applications.
  • Ability to become proficient in proprietary technology solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Acquire and retain profitable business relationships through transportation and logistics service sales.
  • Develop and maintain expert-level knowledge of customers, competitors, and the marketplace.
  • Develop and execute successful account sales strategies utilizing company tools, technology, and network resources.
  • Define optimal target accounts and utilize positioning strategies to leverage the company's value proposition.
  • Provide management with regular reports on sales activities, business opportunities, and competitor intelligence.
  • Execute a yearly business plan consistent with national sales goals.
  • Conduct sales calls and manage client entertainment activities as required.
