Requirements

  • Law Degree required.
  • Admitted to practice law in any state and in good standing.
  • Minimum of 2-4 years of professional legal experience.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in commercial contract review, drafting, editing, and negotiation.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of fundamental legal concepts and procedures.
  • Working knowledge of applicable federal and state mortgage servicing laws and regulations.
  • Strong legal research, writing, and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Responsibilities

  • Draft, review, edit, and negotiate commercial contracts such as vendor agreements, NDAs, and technology agreements.
  • Manage contract lifecycle processes including intake, tracking, and execution.
  • Provide legal advice to servicing operations regarding compliance, risk management, and complex legal issues.
  • Draft responses to government agencies concerning consumer complaints and assist with investigations.
  • Review and revise servicing policies, procedures, and training manuals.
  • Support in-house litigation staff on servicing-related allegations.
  • Coordinate with external counsel as needed.
