Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required (Master's preferred).
- FSA or ASA actuarial certification required.
- Proven experience in underwriting principles in a managed care environment.
- Demonstrated actuarial pricing experience.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Excel.
- Experience managing large data sets with tools such as MS Access.
- Ability to work independently as a self-starter.
- Strong analytical, reasoning, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to adhere to strict deadlines.
- Willingness to learn new product lines and adapt to a changing environment.
Responsibilities
- Develop and underwrite new product financial and programmatic cost models.
- Review utilization, cost trends, and pricing model assumptions for data accuracy.
- Evaluate cost impact and assess risk for new product initiatives.
- Direct and coordinate with underwriting managers to ensure timely business responses.
- Provide recommendations on product and customer rates to senior management.
- Analyze internal and external claims data to complete financial requirements for RFPs and renewals.
- Interface with clients and internal stakeholders to resolve RFP and proposal issues.
