Requirements

  • 10 years of progressive experience in management, strategy, policy, advocacy, or a related field.
  • 6 years of experience directly leading, coaching, and developing high-performing teams across cultures, locations, or disciplines.
  • Deep understanding of European energy and climate policy, political dynamics, and private sector engagement.
  • Experience working across European Union institutions, Member States, Central and Eastern Europe, or the UK.
  • Proven ability to shape and lead regional or multinational strategies in complex policy or advocacy environments.
  • Track record of engaging senior stakeholders, including government officials, industry leaders, and funders.
  • Experience managing significant budgets, resources, priorities, and organizational tradeoffs.
  • Fluency in English with clear communication skills at senior levels.
  • Leadership style grounded in collaboration, integrity, and commitment to measurable climate impact.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of CATF’s pan-European policy advocacy strategy.
  • Serve on the senior leadership team to align priorities, resources, and investments.
  • Develop and empower a high-performing, geographically distributed team of 7 policy experts and consultants.
  • Lead regional fundraising in partnership with the Development team.
  • Guide regional advocacy efforts that advance practical climate solutions across Europe.
  • Elevate external voice and manage risk as the final reviewer for reports, policy briefs, and press releases.
  • Represent the organization with European institutions, national governments, funders, and industry leaders.
  • Steward regional resources, including team planning, budgets, and consultant support.
