Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in K–12 education, state departments of education, and/or nonprofit instructional leadership.
  • Significant focus on multilingual learners.
  • 3+ years supervising teams, preferably in a start-up or growing nonprofit environment.
  • Deep expertise in second language acquisition theory and research.
  • Strong knowledge of biliteracy frameworks, English Language Proficiency (ELP) standards, and relevant state policy landscapes.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting grade-level access for multilingual learners within standards-aligned instructional materials.
  • Proven ability to design or refine tools, systems, or processes grounded in research.
  • Exceptional written, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strategic and project management expertise, including budget and consultant network management.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a virtual environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in education, linguistics, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the development, improvement, and execution of K–12 MLL instructional materials reviews in partnership with content-area review teams.
  • Manage and coach MLL Leads by providing clear expectations, professional growth, and performance feedback.
  • Ensure all reviews incorporate a calibrated MLL lens aligned to evidence-based practices and grade-level access.
  • Partner with the Development team to support grant writing and funder cultivation.
  • Lead the development, refinement, and piloting of new review tools in partnership with the Product team.
  • Facilitate cross-functional collaboration between MLL and content review teams to ensure report accuracy and consensus.
  • Manage MLL-related budgets, consultant networks, and grant-aligned workstreams.
  • Represent EdReports in national field engagement opportunities and collaborative initiatives.
  • Drive the vision, strategy, and multi-year roadmap for MLL reviews.
