Requirements

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in program management, food procurement, relationship management, fundraising, sales, or a related field with demonstrated success.
  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience in a relevant discipline.
  • Strong understanding of Canada’s retail sector and experience working with industry partners.
  • Proven ability to build trust and maintain long-term relationships with external partners and internal stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and influencing skills.
  • Strong project management abilities with the capacity to manage multiple deadlines and priorities.
  • Data-driven mindset with the ability to analyze information and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.
  • Collaborative, adaptable, and solutions-oriented approach to problem solving.
  • Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and access to reliable transportation for occasional travel.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with retail partners, industry stakeholders, and community organizations to strengthen national food recovery initiatives.
  • Lead partnership meetings, identify collaboration opportunities, and deliver engagement and training sessions to maximize program participation.
  • Manage the planning, implementation, and ongoing improvement of national food recovery programs, including retail-focused initiatives.
  • Develop and coordinate communication, marketing, and training resources to improve awareness, engagement, and adoption among partners.
  • Analyze program performance, identify risks and opportunities, and implement strategies to improve efficiency and overall impact.
  • Provide guidance, training, and mentorship to local organizations to strengthen their partnerships and increase recovered food volumes.
  • Lead program stewardship and recognition activities, ensuring successful execution and communication with stakeholders.
  • Identify new opportunities to expand food recovery initiatives and develop strategies that increase access to nutritious food nationwide.
  • Manage multiple priorities, timelines, and stakeholder relationships while ensuring consistent program delivery and measurable outcomes.
