Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in designing and implementing robust backend services.
- Proficiency in a modern object-oriented programming language such as Java or Kotlin.
- Demonstrated technical leadership with the ability to drive cross-team alignment.
- Experience with microservices architecture and containerization technologies.
- Knowledge of backend application lifecycle management, including database and API design.
- Experience developing single-page frontend applications using React.
- Excellent communication skills for articulating complex technical concepts.
- Familiarity with AI-augmented development tools like GitHub Copilot or Claude Code.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement Kotlin backend services to improve device management workflows.
- Lead the design and development of the next generation of Toast software services and applications.
- Collaborate with Product Management, Hardware, and QA teams on product roadmaps and requirements.
- Create technical requirements and detailed designs for software systems.
- Lead effort estimation sessions to enable project planning.
- Diagnose performance bottlenecks and implement optimizations.
- Establish technical decisions prioritizing software quality, security, and maintainability.
- Promote software quality by adopting modern test frameworks and practices.
