Requirements
- 3 years of related experience in a travel agency, airline, or wholesale travel agency.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Lotus Notes/Microsoft Outlook.
- Knowledge of all aspects of the Sabre airline reservations system (booking, ticketing, exchanges, pricing, routing, and queue processing).
- Ability to work independently and think quickly.
- Flexible schedule to work nights and weekends (shifts assigned between 6pm-6am M-F and 5pm-6am S-S).
- Availability for an initial 4-6 week paid training period.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills for dealing with suppliers, crew, and management.
Responsibilities
- Process urgent air travel outside of business hours for shipboard officers, crew, guest entertainers, vendors, contractors, and shoreside employees.
- Provide customer service and support for cruise guests experiencing travel plan disruptions or requiring immediate assistance with flights.
- Administer hotel and ground transportation arrangements including creation and communication of rooming lists and manifests.
- Monitor phone calls and e-mails for shoreside travelers in need of urgent assistance, providing timely and accurate information.
- Find optimal travel arrangements balancing price, convenience, and comfort, and issue air tickets.
- Follow all company and department-specific policies and procedures during daily operations.
