Requirements
- 4+ years of experience in applied data science, ML engineering, or AI engineering in a production environment.
- Deep understanding of RAG architectures including retrieval systems, embedding models, vector databases (Pinecone, Weaviate, pgvector), and chunking strategies.
- Experience designing and running evaluation frameworks for AI systems in domains with ambiguous ground truth.
- Strong Python programming skills.
- Experience with LLM orchestration frameworks such as LangChain or LlamaIndex.
- Ability to think like both an engineer and a scientist to build measurable, iterated, and trusted systems.
- Strong written communication skills to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Genuine interest in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and clinical domains.
- Clinical NLP experience or healthcare AI background is strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with HIPAA-compliant data handling for AI pipelines is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Architect and continuously improve RAG pipelines by retrieving clinical context and optimizing retrieval layers for clinical relevance.
- Design and build automated evaluation frameworks and datasets to assess AI recommendation quality beyond standard metrics.
- Identify and mitigate gaps in foundation model capabilities through improved retrieval, prompt engineering, and output validation.
- Monitor production AI outputs for quality, drift, and failure modes using built-in evaluation infrastructure.
- Collaborate with clinical leadership and BCBAs to translate clinical domain knowledge into robust technical requirements.
