Requirements
- 12+ years of backend engineering experience with a focus on distributed systems.
- Expert-level Python proficiency, including FastAPI, SQLAlchemy, and Pydantic v2.
- Experience with async/concurrent programming (asyncio, ThreadPoolExecutor).
- Strong PostgreSQL expertise: schema design, indexing, and multi-tenant isolation.
- Hands-on AWS production experience: EC2/ECS, RDS, S3, IAM, and CloudWatch.
- Deep understanding of event-driven and async architectures.
- Experience integrating LLM APIs in production environments.
- Proficiency with container-based deployments using Docker.
- Strong API lifecycle management skills: OpenAPI 3.1 and versioning.
- Practical knowledge of distributed system patterns like sagas and circuit breakers.
- Foundational security engineering skills (OAuth2, JWT, RBAC).
Responsibilities
- Design and own end-to-end backend architecture for the AI platform.
- Architect and evolve AI pipelines, balancing accuracy, latency, and LLM API costs.
- Enhance the unified LLM provider layer with structured output schemas and failover logic.
- Design distributed worker systems for heavy pipeline execution with retry and backpressure handling.
- Lead AWS production deployment architecture including ECS, RDS, and Bedrock.
- Define and enforce API design standards for 25+ FastAPI endpoints.
- Manage PostgreSQL schema design, indexing, and multi-tenant isolation.
- Implement security and compliance standards including IAM, CORS, and secrets management.
- Establish observability with structured logging and distributed tracing.
- Mentor senior engineers and drive the technical roadmap.
