Requirements

  • Proven experience managing complex, high-volume digital services.
  • Strong understanding of the GDPR act and experience handling information rights requests.
  • Knowledge of Freedom of Information, media law, or online community moderation.
  • Ability to develop long-term vision and strategic objectives.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify causes and implement remedies.
  • Excellent communication and written English skills.
  • Experience working in a remote, geographically distributed environment.
  • Proactive, organized, and capable of making decisions in ambiguous settings.
  • Comfortable working with and coordinating the efforts of volunteers.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day running and operation of mySociety's digital services.
  • Oversee frontline user support, ensuring incoming cases are triaged, prioritized, and resolved efficiently.
  • Handle complex, high-risk cases and legal obligations such as GDPR rights-based requests and Online Safety Act reports.
  • Manage governance, risk, and policy compliance across services.
  • Coordinate with product area owners to identify trends and service improvements.
  • Provide leadership and motivation to those contributing to frontline user support, including volunteers.
  • Produce reports on service use and facilitate strategic operational meetings.
