Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in a food safety role, preferably within produce, meat, and/or seafood sectors.
- 5+ years of experience in a processor or distributor facility, or within a National Foodservice organization.
- Demonstrated experience with spreadsheets, databases, SCM planning and execution applications, and ERP systems.
- Superior project management skills with a track record of individual and team-based problem solving.
- Strong relationship and networking skills with the ability to build client credibility.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including group presentation experience.
- Proficiency with office productivity tools including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Ability to work autonomously and manage high-priority projects.
- Master’s degree in Food Science, Food Safety, or related studies preferred.
- Understanding of supply chain logistics, procurement, manufacturing, and inventory management.
Responsibilities
- Support food safety and quality strategies for National accounts within the Fresh Division.
- Act as a client-facing advocate and consultant regarding FSQA areas, risks, and challenges.
- Manage day-to-day food safety needs including substitute supplier review, claims management, and specification tolerance.
- Lead and manage the Food Safety Project Manager to ensure all client projects and initiatives are monitored.
- Liaise with internal teams including Contracts, Procurement, Supply Chain, and Sales to ensure efficiency.
- Ensure client awareness and compliance with current food safety policies and regulatory best practices.
