Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
- Chartered or working toward CEng (CIBSE or IMechE).
- Strong understanding of UK building regulations, CIBSE guidance, and industry standards.
- Proven experience delivering mechanical designs for commercial offices, residential developments, hotels, retail, or mixed-use schemes.
- Proficiency in design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit MEP).
- Strong communication and client-facing ability.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design of HVAC, public health, heating, cooling, ventilation, domestic water, and above-ground drainage systems.
- Produce and review calculations, specifications, drawings, and technical reports.
- Undertake detailed design using tools such as Revit, AutoCAD, or equivalent.
- Ensure compliance with UK Building Regulations, CIBSE Guides, BS/EN standards, and local planning requirements.
- Lead mechanical design packages across RIBA Stages 1–6.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including electrical, structural, architectural, and sustainability specialists.
- Act as a key point of contact for clients, contractors, and external stakeholders.
- Integrate low-carbon technologies, heat pumps, MVHR, district heating, and renewable systems into designs.
