Requirements
- Advanced degree in a scientific or healthcare-related field (MSc, PhD, PharmD, MD) preferred; bachelor's degree with extensive experience also considered.
- 6+ years of medical communications or medical writing experience.
- 2+ years of people management and coaching experience.
- Expertise in publication planning, medical communication tactics, and data interpretation.
- Strong understanding of the clinical research and regulatory landscape, including MLR submission processes.
- Mastery of industry guidelines such as Good Publication Practices (GPP) and ICMJE.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, graphic software, and collaboration tools.
- Excellent facilitation, presentation, and strategic client leadership skills.
- Ability to travel occasionally (up to ~20%).
Responsibilities
- Lead one or more large/high-complexity accounts and define integrated medical/scientific communication strategies.
- Serve as principal scientific contact for client stakeholders and clinical leads.
- Oversee high-quality content across manuscripts, congress materials, and digital assets.
- Conduct scientific reviews for accuracy, consistency, and compliance with industry standards (e.g., GPP, ICMJE).
- Lead scientific discussions, workshops, and advisory boards, and participate in pitches and proposals.
- Manage 3–5 direct reports, including writers and associate scientific directors, supporting their professional development.
- Contribute to scoping, resource planning, and workflow optimization.
